What this is

These Terms describe what you can expect from username.dev and what we expect from you. Simple, direct, and lightweight.

What we do

username.dev lets you validate usernames through an API. You send us a string, we give you structured results.

No subscriptions — credit packs only

We sell prepaid request packs. You buy them, you use them. No auto-charging, no surprise renewals.

Refunds

You can request a refund on unused credits. Email sourabh@username.dev and we'll sort it out.

Credits never expire

Buy credits today, use them next week or next year.

No guarantees (best effort)

We aim for fast responses and global uptime, but things break. There are no SLAs, uptime guarantees, or performance promises.

Logs

We store API logs, including username inputs, for performance, debugging, and abuse prevention.

Acceptable use

Right now, we don't enforce specific usage restrictions. Don't be terrible. If something crosses a legal boundary, we'll step in.

Reselling

We don't currently allow reselling or white-label use of the API. If you're interested, email us.

Billing

Stripe handles payment details. We don't store card numbers.

Ownership

The service, code, database, and responses belong to us. You own your product.

Liability

Stuff breaks. Bugs exist. Outages happen. Data centers have bad days. Space debris could erase a server. The universe is chaotic. So:

  • We are not liable for downtime.
  • We are not liable for lost revenue or business harm.
  • We are not liable for cosmic damage, asteroid impacts, or timeline shifts.

Basically: don't sue us if things go wrong.

Governing law

These terms follow the laws of wherever the owner of username.dev is based.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
